The three biggest questions that I get here at Scalpp Clinic is: “Does it Hurt?” “Will people be able to tell it’s a Scalp Tattoo?” and… “How much does Scalp Pigmentation cost or How much does Hair Pigmentation cost?”
We always get asked too if our prices are the same at our 2 clinics in Houston and Austin. The answer is yes, the quotes are 100% identical.
Costs have gone down considerably since I first had my treatment all those years ago at HISHair Clinic. His Hair Clinic was the only company performing the treatment to a standard that I would consider realistic. And back then I think I paid somewhere in the region of $5500.00. Not only have the costs gone down since then but the standards of the best Technicians have risen quite considerably – and smaller businesses like my own have nowhere near the same overheads. So, not a bad time at all to be a customer. Lower prices, better treatments.
We generally charge between $1100 – $4100. Whether we are making thinning hair look thicker or creating the look of a shaved head will usually alter the quotation price.
In deciding the final quote, however, we are looking at 4 main factors:
- The amount of area that is needed to cover.
- The amount of hair remaining and it’s density.
- The amount of blending required into the client’s existing hair.
- Are there any scars to cover from surgery or any other special situation?
See this chart below, it is a rough guide to my charges, this will vary based on the 4 points above.Although this is the scale that we used to work on for quotations, it should now be used only as a rough estimate. The work we do is very precise and every scalp is different. The resulting quote can either be lower or higher than the chart above. Just for your information – each Technician here only ever treats 2 clients per day and we also book clients in for an extra 60-90 minutes longer than we think that we need to ensure those extra few dots that make all the difference.
Cost is important, we all want to save money and who doesn’t love a bargain? But if possible, try not to make the cost primary aim of this treatment. This doesn’t mean that the more you pay – the better the treatment will, there are always people/clinics out there will try their luck with big quotes. This especially goes for medical facilities/hair transplant Doctors that will try to market this as a “medical procedure” to charge more for scalp pigmentation, a treatment that they have only just began offering and one that they don’t even specialize in. This is a form of tattooing, not surgery, this is art, not science.
This is a one-off investment, so do your research – alot – go visit a few clinics in your area. Try bypass the consultant (consultant is another word for sales person) and meet your actual Technician, it is them who you are putting your trust in and it is them that make all the difference between a bad, good and excellent scalp pigmentation procedure.
