While studying for my Fine Arts in the UK I began to experience my first episodes of having patches of hair loss. They weren’t entirely noticeable to anyone at first, except to me, but they became progressively worse as time went on. After receiving an incorrect diagnosis of Alopecia Areata, I was placed on a course of frustrating treatment plans. In fact, I was suffering from very early Male Pattern Baldness which was quickly worsening. I exhaustively researched what options were available to me and found Scalp Micropigmentation.
The innovative process appealed to me; using an art form to proactively help me with something which was ruining my confidence. Back then, there was very little in the way of videos, and research. In 2012, I sought out having my own treatment at HIS Hair Clinic in the UK, who are the developers of the modern SMP treatment. SMP is relatively mainstream today so as crazy as it sounds – HIS Hair Clinic were also the only SMP company around at that time.
Shortly afterward I began extensive training with HIS Hair in performing the treatment itself. I wanted to help others in the same way that I had been helped. Since then, I have had the honor to work amongst some of the best SMP artists in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami. I set up my own clinic, Scalpp, in 2018 and we now have clinics in Austin and Houston, where I am based permanently.
Early days – When I first came to Houston
I was the first permanent Practitioner at the HIS Hair in Houston. Me and my family and I have moved and settled down roots in Houston, Texas. The clinic has been visited by both Fox News and ABC News, and it is here I have chosen to start my one and only clinic to provide a personal service and award each client with the most natural Scalp Micropigmentation currently available.
